Seventy-Five Years of Russian-Australian Diplomatic Relations

Presented by His Excellency, Mr Grigory S. Logvinov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Commonwealth of Australia. He will discuss current global issues and relations between Australia and Russia. In October, the two countries will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties.

 

Mr Logvinov was born in 1956. In 1979, he  graduated from the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University, before joining the diplomatic service in 1979. During his career, he was posted to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in China and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the USA. In 2008, Mr Logvinov was appointed as Ambassador-at-large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and special envoy for North-East Asia Security. He holds the diplomatic rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, First Class. Mr Logvinov speaks Chinese, English and German. He is married and has daughters.
